High-lying customers can expect low pressure or no water until the reservoir level improves. The city has not given a restoration time (City of Tshwane; City of Tshwane on X).

Why is Bronkhorstspruit still without safe water?
The Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Works was shut down after a water contamination problem. Mayor Nasiphi Moya says electrical repairs are now done and key pumping equipment is working or ready for commissioning, but the plant stays shut until treatment, testing and safety checks are complete (Jacaranda FM; City of Tshwane).
Reservoir cleaning is still under way. One Zithobeni reservoir is about 85% clean and the other about 70%, and cleaning of the Ekandustria reservoirs is due to start (Jacaranda FM).
Water and Sanitation Minister Pemmy Majodina said on 28 October that reported cases of gastrointestinal illness in the Bronkhorstspruit area had risen from 408 to 833, with no critical cases or deaths reported (Zawya via TradingView).
When will water return?
The city has not given a date for the Bronkhorstspruit plant to restart. Officials say supply will resume only once the water meets safety requirements (Jacaranda FM).
For the Pretoria CBD, the mayor said she was optimistic that full restoration to Findlay Reservoir could be confirmed on Thursday, subject to water-quality clearance (Jacaranda FM). This had not been officially confirmed at the time of writing.
What should residents do?
- In the Bronkhorstspruit supply area, don't use tap water for drinking, cooking, food preparation or washing. Boiling it does not make it safe, and tap water stored before the advisory should be thrown away (TimesLIVE).
- Get drinking water only from city-approved tankers, not rivers, dams, streams, wells or unverified boreholes (Jacaranda FM).
- If you have water, use it only for essentials so reservoirs can recover (Jacaranda FM).
- Report isolated outages to the City of Tshwane on 012 358 9999 (IOL).
