Several parts of Johannesburg are without electricity on Thursday, 29 October 2026. City Power says operators are investigating a new outage in Marshalltown in the inner city (City Power, 29 Oct), and older faults in Alexandra, Lakeview, Crown and Langlaagte are still being repaired. These are faults and planned maintenance, not load shedding.

City Power last said on Wednesday afternoon that power had been partly restored to Wynberg, Kew and parts of Bramley on the Gresswold network, off since 18 October, and that it was sourcing materials to finish repairs (City Power, 28 Oct, 15:51).
Which areas have planned power cuts today?
City Power has planned maintenance at Westfield Substation from 09:00 to 17:00 today (City Power, 29 Oct). Areas include Greenstone Hill and its extensions, Blackrock, Thornhill Valley, Founders Hill and the Greenstone shopping centres. Kibler Park is off from 08:00 to 16:00 for work at Eikenhof Substation (Reported, citing City Power).

City Power has not given restoration times for the outages still listed. It says customers will be updated as work progresses (City Power).
