Walmart opened its first South African stores at Clearwater Mall and Fourways Mall in November 2025, then Boksburg in February 2026, all in former Game sites. Its app offers 60 minute delivery within 8km of a Walmart store, so for now it only helps people living near one. Massmart says another 21 stores are planned for Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.
