Smaller spots are also in on it, including Triggerfish Brewery in Somerset West (a free 340ml beer) and Zuney Wagyu (free fries), according to The South African and TimesLIVE.

How do you claim it?

Show the ink mark on your thumb at the counter. That mark is the only proof the outlets ask for (The South African). Most offers are valid on 4 November only, so the Sorbet discount is the one that carries into Thursday (TimesLIVE).

Branch participation can differ, especially for Spur, so it's worth checking with your nearest outlet or the brand's social media before you go (The South African). Alcohol offers are for over-18s only.

Is there still time to vote?

Voting stations close at 9pm, and anyone already in the queue by then can still vote (TimesLIVE). Freebies aside, you'll need your green barcoded ID, smart ID card or temporary ID certificate.
