Surprise Spur proposal in Polokwane has Mzansi cheering
A TikToker who happened to be at the Spur in Mall of the North, Polokwane, filmed a surprise proposal, and Mzansi has crowned him reporter of the year.
A surprise proposal at the Spur in Mall of the North, Polokwane, has turned into one of Mzansi's feel-good clips of the week. TikToker @alpha.rm happened to be eating there when it unfolded, so he turned the camera on himself and then on the cheering crowd as the couple celebrated. His 37-second video, posted on the evening of 3 November 2026, has passed 250,000 views and 72,000 likes.
Alpha wasn't part of the moment. In the caption he says he "just witnessed a lovely proposal", and when a viewer asked whether he knew the couple, he replied that he didn't, according to Briefly News. That's exactly why the comments blew up: regular viewers say he always seems to be in the right place when something happens, and many crowned him Mzansi's unofficial reporter.
One commenter, @melow3746, wrote "That’s me guys 🥺❤️thank you so much Alpha 🙏🏽", but Reported couldn't confirm that the account belongs to the couple.
