The Table Mountain Cableway and Kirstenbosch are run separately and set their own prices, so these fees don't apply there (SANParks).

How much more are you paying than last year?

For the most visited parks, the South African adult rate moves like this (The South African, SANParks):

ParkUntil 31 October 2026From 1 November 2026

KgalagadiR129R134

Augrabies is the one park where the local adult fee stays the same (The South African).

What will a Kruger day trip cost a family?

Using the new rates, two South African adults and two children aged 2 to 11 pay R420 in conservation fees for one day in Kruger (2 x R140 plus 2 x R70). Three days comes to R1,260, before accommodation, fuel or game drives (SANParks).

Children under 2 enter free (SANParks).

How do you get the South African rate?

Bring proof. SANParks accepts a South African ID, driver's licence or passport, either the original, an electronic copy or a certified copy. Foreign nationals living here can claim the local rate with a passport holding a valid work, study, spousal, retirement, volunteer or diplomatic visa, or proof of permanent residence (SANParks).

Claim it at the gate. SANParks says there are no refunds once you're through the gate if you didn't claim and get billed the SA rate on arrival (SANParks).

Citizens of SADC countries that are part of a transfrontier agreement pay the local rate at those parks. A Zimbabwean or Mozambican visiting Kruger, or a Motswana visiting Kgalagadi, pays what South Africans pay (SANParks).

Can you avoid the daily fee?

Yes, with a Wild Card. Members of SANParks' Wild Card loyalty programme don't pay daily conservation fees, as long as they show the card and ID on arrival (SANParks). If you visit parks often or stay several days, compare the Wild Card price on the SANParks Wild Card page with what you'd pay per day.

Pensioners and South African residents aged 60 and older can also get discounts on normal tariffs if the booking is in their name (SANParks).

Keep in mind that a 1% community levy is added to accommodation and activity bookings, separate from the conservation fee (SANParks).
