TikToker @shannhockey posted a moving vlog on 1 November showing her South African family's first few days in Texas. The clip runs through everyday stops, including Walmart, a Mexican restaurant, Target and Nebraska Furniture Mart. It has about 69,000 views and about 3,300 likes.

Briefly covered the video on 5 November. In the caption she says the first week was mostly eating and shopping for furniture, with plans to explore more of the state next. Commenters place them around the Dallas-Fort Worth area from the stores shown. Her exact suburb is unconfirmed beyond what appears in the video and outlet coverage.
