Parts of Johannesburg are still without water or on low pressure on Saturday, 7 November 2026. Johannesburg Water says systems are still recovering and it can't give a restoration time for the worst hit central areas, while a burst 450mm steel pipe in Forest Hill cuts water to the south from 08:00 to 17:00 today (Johannesburg Water on X, Johannesburg Water on X).

This follows yesterday's Johannesburg water outages update.

Which areas have no water today?

These are the live interruptions on Johannesburg Water's notices as of about 08:00 on Saturday (OurPower reading of Johannesburg Water notices, Johannesburg Water on X):

Why are Berea, Yeoville and Parktown still dry?

The central system is short of incoming water. Johannesburg Water's boards say incoming supply to Yeoville Reservoirs 1 and 2 remains severely constrained and pumping at the Yeoville Pump Station is suspended because of poor suction pressure. Parktown Reservoir is critically low (OurPower reading of Johannesburg Water boards).

On Saturday morning Johannesburg Water told residents that most areas supplied by the Berea Reservoir are receiving water, but it could not give a restoration time as systems are still recovering (Johannesburg Water on X). Residents in Berea and nearby areas replying to the utility on X said their taps were still dry. That is their report, not an official status.

Which reservoirs and towers are under strain?

Low reservoirs mean weak pressure or no water on higher ground and in the evenings, even where no street outage is listed (OurPower reading of Johannesburg Water boards):

What should you do if your taps are dry?

Store water when supply returns, keep a few days' drinking water, and close taps so a sudden return doesn't flood sinks. Check whether your suburb is on a low reservoir before logging a new fault, as that usually means pressure will recover slowly rather than a pipe being broken.

FAQ

When will water return in Berea and Yeoville?

Johannesburg Water says it can't give a restoration time because systems are still recovering. It says most areas fed by the Berea Reservoir are receiving water.
