Couple can't keep a straight face at their Home Affairs wedding
A newlywed couple tried not to laugh as their Home Affairs marriage officer read their vows in a slow, unforgettable style. Watch the TikTok and see what Mzansi is saying.

A couple's civil wedding at Home Affairs has Mzansi in stitches. In a TikTok posted by the bride, @chantelleflorenceshawa, on 30 October, the newlyweds stand side by side in a Home Affairs office while the marriage officer reads the vows in a slow, very deliberate style, and the pair try their best not to laugh. The clip has about 150,000 views and more than 30,000 likes.
"Our civil wedding officiant was so funny. We couldn't hold in our laughter," she wrote in the caption, adding: "Only in South Africa I tell you!!" The on-screen text reads "POV: You get married at HOME AFFAIRS in South Africa".
The video has been shared nearly 3,000 times, and Briefly News also picked it up. One commenter even says the same officer married her and her husband, and they had the same struggle keeping a straight face.
