Residents' reports on ESP show water off in Parow North, Clamhall, Fairfield Estate and Parow Golf Course since about 10:20 on 25 October 2026. The City has not posted a notice, cause or restore time yet.

Taps have run dry in four areas around Clamhall in Cape Town's northern suburbs on Sunday morning, 25 October 2026, according to residents' reports on ESP. The City of Cape Town had not posted anything about an outage in these areas by 10:30.
This is a developing story. Last updated: 25 October 2026, 10:30 SAST.
Which areas are affected?
ESP's incident page, which is built from residents' reports, lists these four areas as off (ESP):
- Parow North: off since about 10:20
- Clamhall: off since about 10:22
- Fairfield Estate: off since about 10:24
- Parow Golf Course: off since about 10:24
ESP shows none of the four as back on yet. These are residents' reports, not a City notice. If you live nearby and your water is off but your area isn't listed, report it to the City (see below).
Has the City confirmed it?
Not yet. As of 10:30 on Sunday:
- The City's unplanned outage feed lists no water outage in Parow North, Clamhall, Fairfield Estate or Parow Golf Course (City service alerts).
- @CityofCTAlerts has posted outages in Pearl Marina, Richmond Estate and Bo-Kaap this morning, but nothing on these areas.
- The City's planned maintenance notice for 24 to 31 October lists no work in these areas (City media release; City service alerts).
What caused it, and when will water be back?
No source has given a cause or a restore time. ESP lists restoration as "not yet confirmed" (ESP).
Some of the same areas lost water from 21 to 22 October. The City linked that outage to maintenance on the 1,500mm outlet of the Tygerberg Reservoir and listed Fairfield Estate, Parow North and Churchill Estate among the areas hit (City alert, 22 Oct). That work was scheduled to end on Friday, 23 October. The City has not said whether today's outage is related. Read our coverage from 21 October and 22 October.
How to report it
Log it with the City and keep the reference number. The City asks for your street address or nearest landmark and a contact number (City of Cape Town):
- Call: 0860 103 089 (option 2 for water, 24 hours a day)
- WhatsApp: 060 018 1505
- SMS: 31373 (standard rates apply)
- Email: [email protected]
- Online: capetown.gov.za/servicerequests
What to do while the water is off
- Keep your taps closed so water isn't wasted and nothing floods when supply returns.
- Use stored water sparingly and keep drinking water in clean, sealed containers.
- Expect cloudy water at first. The City says water can look milky for a short while after supply returns because of trapped air in the pipes, and it clears if left to stand in a glass (City media release).
- Check for updates on @CityofCTAlerts and the ESP incident page.
We will update this article when the City responds or water returns.
