Two tourists filmed their happy Cape Town run. Then they were robbed
A sunny TikTok of two friends running in Cape Town with Table Mountain behind them carries a caption saying they were robbed at gunpoint. Watch the clip and see how Mzansi reacted.

Two friends grin at the camera at a table, jog along a misty beach, then run a sunny road with Table Mountain behind them, phones in hand. The twist is in the on-screen caption of the six-second TikTok @elladymalla posted on 26 October: "Little did they know their run would get them robbed at gun point and they would spend their second day in Cape Town filing police reports ..." It has about 651,000 views and 35,700 likes.
The clip doesn't say exactly where the robbery happened or whether anyone was hurt, and Reported hasn't been able to confirm the details with police. Briefly News reported that the creator is a tourist from Australia.
Nearly 600 comments came in, many of them from South Africans. The most liked ones question running with phones out, while others push back on what they call victim blaming and share safer routes and travel tips.
