When is Black Friday 2026 in South Africa?
Black Friday is the day after US Thanksgiving, which is on Thursday, 26 November this year. That puts Black Friday on Friday, 27 November 2026 (MyBroadband). Cyber Monday, the online follow-up, lands on Monday, 30 November.

Takealot's chief marketing officer, Karla Levick, said 27 November is "still the main event", with exclusive deals landing from midnight (BusinessTech). Massmart has said its Black Friday offers go up to 50% off (MyBroadband).

The deals are in store and online at Makro, Game and Builders. Walmart has no online store, only an on-demand app, and it only delivers within about 8km of its three Gauteng stores (MyBroadband).

Massmart said gaming consoles and smartphones are among the most searched Black Friday items, with "PS5 Black Friday" and iPhone deals near the top. It hasn't confirmed specific PS5 prices yet and says details will come closer to the day (MyBroadband).
Can you return something you bought online?
Yes, in most cases. Under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you can cancel an online purchase within seven days of getting the goods, without a reason or penalty. The most you can be charged is the direct cost of sending it back (ECTA, section 44). Some items, such as perishable goods and personalised products, are excluded.
